I just took a look at my first post in lj. I said: "I should be revamping my website, doing some more geneological work, getting the house clean, getting ready for our trip to Singapore in two weeks, but instead I'm writing a live journal entry. Oh, well."

Now, more than a year later, I'm still not revamping my website, still not doing more geneological work, somewhat getting the house clean (although my attempt to wash the kitchen floor two weeks ago was interrupted by that emergency work call...).

I need to get this stuff together.

But now, for melon and raspberries with HWMBO.

Wanna trade? My workshop has been a mess forever.
It's appalling.

If an all-expenses paid trip to you (I forget where you are, suddenly) is included, along with, say, a hunky strapping male Asian-American bodybuilder to warm the bed at night (chastely, of course), then I might consider it.

Otherwise, use the money to hire a cleaner. I've considered it here, at least for a one time scrub.

I'm in San Francisco! And I have a cute but straightish male carpenter housemate.

Did the cleaner thing once, and got a house clean enough for a gathering, but didn't trust the cleaner people (one just talked on our phone the whole time and didn't seem to get "wash the floor") and it was work to have them around.

Given that I can't seem to let anyone touch my stuff, I've switched to a new idea: purge! purge everything! If it's on the floor or out of place, away with it! I did get a haul-away service to drag off all the paperbacks once, but that was ridiculously expensive, and I could sell them or donate them myself.

It's a start.

You LET PEOPLE TAKE SOME BOOKS!!! HORRORS! I still have some books that I got in grammar school. I only throw away obsolete computer technical tomes.

Oh, and I would love to get an all-expenses paid trip to SF. Haven't been there in 10 years and havent lived there for 12. I promise that I wouldn't talk on the phone (much) and would try to wash your floor.

Oh, and I'd feed your straightish male housemate several six-packs. Don't tell him, though; it'd spoil the surprise.

Oh I didn't let them take the obsolete computer technical tomes. Those might have references to me. :-)

But the paperbacks. Hundreds of paperbacks. I'm addicted to bestsellers, thrillers, drugstore crap. They pile up.

Aside from the Book Problem, it looks like you're coming to SF to clean my apartment. Yeeha!
