It's going to be DNA registration in the end. And I confess that despite being sympathetic to criminals, I don't disagree with it.

DNA registration? What about identical twins?

That being said, no one has absolutely proven that no two fingerprints are identical. It's a convenient assumption that allows the authorities to identify miscreants with a high degree of probability.

Identical twins will definitely be at a disadvantage. On the other hand, they have a larger opportunity for messing with the authorities, with DNA identification plus ubiquitous public space cameras. So it's a yay-boo for them. For everyone else, it's basically a yay unless you've done something heinous and left DNA behind.
