Given the nature of foxes, I bet the foxes were far more alarmed!!

Oddly enough, they curled up right in front of the door, and while they were wary when I looked out the window or tapped on the window pane, they didn't run away. The gas fitter had to take a look out the back door and he did scare them into the next backyard. They came back almost as soon as he closed the door.
