...thanks to @jonk for posting this. If you're young enough and wanted to do something like this, don't wait! Do it now, before you get too decrepit to do it. It's the first ascent and base jump from the Old Man of Hoy.

good for them. but there is absolutely no way on God's green earth that I would do that (or willingly parachute jump anywhere, for that matter)

principally because I'd not BE on God's green earth. But as I said, hooray for those who get their thrills thataway.

I think I've always been too decrepit to do something like this. I enjoyed rock climbing the few times I've tried it, but the getting-down but was always an ordeal.

To think one of these guys, the one with glasses, died 11 days later during a base jump in Switzerland. It makes me sad, seeing them so full of life in the video and then learning about that.
