Having been a nurse at St Thomas' in London, I saw many strange things, so a hoover is not that big of a surprise... This story is a little exaggerated I think; Casualty wards keep a supply of solvent on hand and it works immediately, so 'battling for an hour' is a bit of poetic license. But like you, I'd like to see the pictures! (and again, knowing nurses, I'm sure some exist somewhere...)
