It seems that in North Carolina, an older gentleman has been arreted for abetting prostitution (by being a client). The headline says it all: President of the Christian Action League, 74, Is Arrested after Allegedly Paying Hooker with Checks After he paid her, he then reported the cheques stolen.

So, he's not only a hypocrite, but not very bright as well. Story is here. This is a real McDonald's story, because:

I'm lovin' it.

Another one?

Why is he being charged with such minor stuff. Surely they could go for fraud and probably something about lying to the police?

Oh, I'm sure they could. But I think that linking him with prostitution is probably the best charge going against such a Christian hypocrite.

I don't know. A tearful confession, a few months of contrite behavior, and then Donald Wildmon declares that he is "redeemed" and it's back to business as usual. (Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they understand that repentence and forgiveness are central facets in Christianity ... just wish that they'd extend it to those outside the immediate family.)

I'm far more alarmed at writing a check and then declaring the checks stolen, which more or less undermines our financial system. I can wait for God to sort out the whole prostitute thing on His own time, but here on Earth we all need Privette to suffer the credit death penalty for fraud. It's a far more immediate danger to everyone in his community, and is perhaps more indicative of the moral character of one who should not be in leadership.

Well, the guy is 72, so how contrite can he get? Maybe the penalty for what they charged him with is greater than the charge for making a false report to the police. That being said, I don't know what the motivation was for that one charge and probably I will never know.
