Police log from Marblehead, Massachusetts, Thursday, October 25. Significantly bizarre entries emphasized.

At 8:32 a.m., a woman on Devereux Street called police to report that her 14-year-old daughter wouldn't get out of bed because of an emotional problem. An ambulance dispatched to the scene was reportedly canceled and the mother agreed to bring the girl to school. I wonder why my mother never thought of calling the constabulary when I didn't want to get up.
At 10:55 a.m., police conducted a warrant service.
At 11:59 a.m., a police officer asked that it be noted that the DPW was working near the intersection of Clifton and Atlantic avenues and a DPW employee was directing outbound traffic into the inbound lane.
At 1:53 p.m., a woman called police to report that she and her dog were nearly run over by a black SUV at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Hawkes Street. The woman reportedly provided police with a partial plate.
At 2:40 p.m., an employee at Marblehead High School called police to report that there was a fight near the gate at the Post Office.
At 4:36 p.m., police responded to a report of an unregistered boat trailer on Ocean Avenue.
At 4:55 p.m., a Leggs Hill Road resident called police to report that some styrofoam tombstones were stolen from their front lawn. Not that he has an unregistered cemetery—I suspect Hallowe'en hijinks.
At 4:56 p.m., a resident entered the police station to let officers know her daughter was attacked after school.
At 5:04 p.m., a Gregory Street man called police to report that a woman was being threatened by her ex-boyfriend and "he told her he was going to go steal her dog and if her roommate got in his way he would slit his throat." Officers took a full statement.
At 5:10 p.m., a Green Street resident called police to report that a firearm may have been taken.
At 6:29 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Crestwood Road.
At 7:03 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Robert Road.
At 7:24 p.m., a vehicle was discovered with its hazard lights.

And on Friday:

At 6:16 a.m., police received word that a new home under construction on Lincoln Avenue was broke into overnight. Police later determined that there wasn't a break-in. I suspect the Grammar Police might be paying a call on the Marblehead Police…
