Police Log
Sep. 27th, 2012 05:37 pmIt was a busy day in Marblehead's Cop Shop last Friday.
Friday, Sept. 21, 2012.
2:25 a.m. Walk-in reported that his girlfriend was overdue in returning home from work. Woman later notified police that she had been in contact with her boyfriend.
10:29 a.m. Officer found a new, three-pack of “onesies” (baby clothing) behind the post office. They were brought to the station.
11:21 a.m. Caller on Calthrope Road reported landscapers on Togan Way were blowing leaves into his yard. Man said workers would “pretend not to speak English” and continue working and that he could not knock on the door, because the property was not owner-occupied. Caller’s fiancée called back to report that the original caller was getting increasingly agitated as work continued. Officers spoke to the workers and restored the peace. I presume the multilingual police officer was called.
12:16 p.m. Caller reported that her vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle as she was exiting parking lot on Atlantic Avenue. There were no injuries.
1:17 p.m. A 21-year-old Lynn woman was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on Pleasant Street. Her vehicle was towed.
1:24 p.m. Caller reported that he had just been on Leggs Hill Road and had been forced up onto the embankment by a car that was being driven on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of speed heading towards Tedesco Street. Vehicle could not be located.
1:28 p.m. Investigated report of a suspicious man on the backside of a building on School Street. Man turned out to be restaurant owner’s brother.
1:31 p.m. Caller reported blue chairs blocking off parking spaces on Pleasant Street. The chairs were gone by the time officer arrived.
1:51 p.m. Caller reported receiving on-and-off threatening text messages from unknown person, whom she had told to come to her house, believing she had a right, as in Florida, to “stand her ground” and use force, a razor blade, knife or other utensils to slit the person’s throat if necessary. Officer informed her that she was not in Florida and would be responsible for any harm caused to the other person. She was advised to lock her doors. Woman claimed her locks did not work.
1:53 p.m. Walk-in dropped off an abuse-prevention order. When out-of-town police department went to serve the order, they found at the address a boarded-up, abandoned house. Police obtained another address for the subject of the order and contacted police in that municipality.
2:54 p.m. Caller on Lighthouse Lane reported neighbor was cutting things down and stacking them on their property at Chandler Hovey Park. Caller added that park director was on site and that police did not need to respond, but officer went to the area, anyway.
2:59 p.m. Well-being check requested at Marblehead High School. Student was transported to the hospital.
6:33 p.m. Walk-in reported that trespassing vehicle would be towed from Brackett Place.
8:50 p.m. Caller reported his son and his friends had been threatened at Marblehead High School football game by person with whom he had his son had a history. Investigation conducted.
9:28 p.m. Investigated report of mother-daughter dispute on Intrepid Circle.
10:53 p.m. A 28-year-old Danvers man was arrested on four out-of-town warrants after officers and firefighters went to investigate a fire alarm going off on Pleasant Street.
11:01 p.m. A 21-year-old Salem man was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon after police were called to investigate a report of kids fighting on Lime Street.
