I haven't ridden a bicycle since I lived in the Bronx nearly 20 years ago. However, in the 1960's, kids were shown this videl to warn them about bicycle safety. I suspect they all got nightmares. I know I will. It's a cross between the Flying Monkeys in the Wizard of Oz and Planet of the Apes. That lovely old queen Edward Everett Horton narrates. It's long, but unmissable.

How utterly morbid!

I'm a bit disappointed helmets weren't in vogue then, as I'm sure they would have come up with something special for the rider who lacked the brain-bucket.

Nightmares is right

LOL.

I saw this in, um, I think 1st Grade in 1977. Caused me to have shrieking nightmares - the two on the bike who fall into the manhole, specifically.

I cannot express how much this scarred me! Those have to be the most terrifying ape-faces ever.

They have monkey-masks on, for some reason or other which I forget, except for the one that arrived at the picnic area.
