I forgot to mention that when I went downstairs to the Diabetic Foot Clinic for my regular biweekly appointment, they weighed me at the end and the investigator was so startled that he ordered me back on the scales for a second time. In the last two weeks I have lost 8 kilograms (17.6 lbs., one stone 3.6 lbs).

The infection may have had something to do with it, but the quality of the food here is, well, debatable.

I've been reading your mis-adventures and am so sorry that you've been stuck in the hospital. I hope your recovery proceeds well. You and HWMBO were such lovely hosts while Mom and I were in London last year, I think of you both fondly.

Get well soon! And no more of this hospital nonsense! :)

Thanks for your kind wishes. I am now out of the hospital and recuperating at home with a PICC line and daily visits by a nurse to administer antibiotics.
