As you may remember, I bought an Asus EEE when in Singapore. It works well, and I plan to start taking it out to Starbucks occasionally to surf and Tweet.

Asus has another product that is even more interesting. I have seen computer that were fitted into the back of a flat-screen monitor (quite common). I have never seen a computer fitted into a keyboard.

My initial impression is that the monitor is not well placed and is a bit small. But, you decide!

The placement is very bad in my opinion. My neck would probably crap up quickly. Also, why the right side? What about those left hand viewing people? There also seems to be a lot of glare on the screen in the photograph and I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same during usage.

Oh, I agree with you. I wonder whether they couldn't put a small monitor inside the keyboard, to be slid out from the top as if it were a laptop when the computer is in use.

I don't like the idea of the computer under the keyboard. I've seen too many people spill into the keyboard.

What I WOULD love would be a smaller eeePC (like the keyboard one, without the keyboard) and a nice wireless bluetooth keyboard like Apple's. Then you'd have the best of both worlds. Something small and hidden (just velcro to the back of the monitor even) and wireless in every other way.

My mental image is of a keyboard on top of a computer, with a solid barrier between them (so that spills stay in the keyboard area and don't leak into the monitor area). The monitor slides out of the keyboard on a stalk attached to the back or the bottom and that allows the monitor to be positioned comfortably for use. When the computer is not in use, the monitor stows back into the keyboard.

Don't think this will happen, but as monitors get thinner, it might become a reality.
