A melancholy anniversary

Today is the first anniversary of my heart attack.

In a week, a happy anniversary.

In between, pensive.

I am doing the best I can...exercise as much as possible, don't eat a lot of sweet stuff, keep taking my pills. I hope this will keep me as healthy as possible in the circumstances. Thanks for your kind words.

Oh, I think an anniversary of a heart attack would be very happy, considering the alternative! But I can understand that it would leave you feeling pretty shook up as well.

I just celebrated 3 1/2 years yesterday from breast cancer surgery. We need to be thankful that we live in the 21st century with modern medecine, great doctors and up to date treatments. Even only 20 years ago our outcomes may have been different. I go tomorrow for a mammeogram and ultrasound follow up from a 6 mos ago check where they saw a spot on my other breast. Wasn't big enough to make a diagnosis or take a biopsy. Tomorrow will tell more. I'm glad you're taking care of yourself and doing what the doc says. Keep me in your prayers

Well, that's very true. I expect my mother would have benefitted from angioplasty, stents, and the like. All they had when she was so ill was early bypass surgery, and her doctor refused to refer her to a cardiologist unless she lost weight. She died after a week on a crash diet which was too little, too late. She died when she was just a few months younger than I am now (54 and one month)

Glad you are still alive and well though, and the good anniversary will be here in no time, so forget about the bad one!
