A melancholy anniversary

Today is the first anniversary of my heart attack.

In a week, a happy anniversary.

In between, pensive.

Well, that's very true. I expect my mother would have benefitted from angioplasty, stents, and the like. All they had when she was so ill was early bypass surgery, and her doctor refused to refer her to a cardiologist unless she lost weight. She died after a week on a crash diet which was too little, too late. She died when she was just a few months younger than I am now (54 and one month)

You're in my prayers today--we need our momshaped box to be around for a while.
