1970's novels and justin.tv

I was poking around in James Lileks' site while waiting for something else to finish, and found this reference to a 1970's paperback novel--I immediately thought of justin.tv, which I mentioned a few entries back. Very spooky, isn't it?

I continue to be fascinated by Justin. That site will be a real time- and byte-waster in the Hansen-HWMBO household for a while.

Jeez, I was thinking of the TV show that book was based on, and trying to remember its name, only about half an hour before I read your message. I used to love that -- the guy was wired so that it was like having telepathy and a bunch of helpful invisible friends on call 24 hours a day, and every so often email/Usenet/chat/LiveJournal/etc. can be kind of reminiscent of that.
