It's that queer agenda again...

Watch out, the homosexual lifestyle vigilantes are on the loose, in the Onion, here.

On a related note, I wonder why there is no lesbian variant of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I should think that the potential for an interesting show is quite high.

They tried one called Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, didn't fly too well, not sure if it is still on. It didn't have quite the same feel though and well, lets be honest, who wants to take fashion advice from flannel wearing muff-divers anywyas. KIDDING, KIDDING!!!!!
Hope all is well in Jolly Ole England

drive by makeovers

I think I've been insulted by the QEftSG group. I mean, I've done one myself. It wasn't done in a team (though I did draft a dyke friend for some of the decorating work), and there weren't any camera crews, but I did do an unplanned makeover back in the summer of 1999.

I was visiting my friend Bill in Victoria, and he muttered something about how nice my new apartment was "that yellow paint - benjamin moore 150 wasn't it?". RIGHT, I thought, if you can remember a colour chip number 6mo after seeing it, you're ripe for redecorating.

(I should perhaps add that he'd moved in seven years previously and it was STILL the original builder's beige. and he calls himself a homosexual!)

So I shanghaied him off to the painte shoppe, and three days later, his entire apartment, with the exception of the kitchen, was completely repainted. not quite what I'd planned on giving for a hostess prezzie, but there you go. It was just decorating, the -er- victim was left un-waxed, no product smeared into his hair, nor yet with a new wardrobe. I was just being Thom Filicia.

oh, waitaminnit, it's not QUITE parallel, my hostess being family, not a straight guy. never mind.

(yes, I know what The Onion is)
